What is the InBody 770?
NOT your typical body composition test… The InBody 770 is a Bio-Electrical Impedance Analysis (BIA) device. We are now able to measure and track valuable indicators of your health like your visceral fat, body water distribution segmental readings (an indicator of inflammation in specific areas) and phase angle values.
What is Phase Angle?
“Your PhA is a direct measurement of your cell integrity and the distribution of water within and outside the cell membrane.
PhAs have given us a remarkable window into how the body responds to changes in health — for better or worse. This explains why people with illnesses or those who are nutritionally deficient, routinely exhibit low PhAs. PhAs also decrease with age as your body loses its capacity to repair and return over new cells as quickly as it did in your youth. The true age of a human being can be determined by the changes in the Phase Angle.
The Phase Angle goes up when you’re healthy and down when you’re ill. It also goes down as you age. When you increase your Phase Angle, you slow down aging.”
How Does the InBody 770 Work?
Bioelectrical impedance analysis (BIA) was discovered in the early 1960s. BIA is a method of measuring body composition. A small alternating current is sent through the body which measures the different resistance of the make-up of the body. For example, body fat compared to body water (such as blood) has a much weaker conductivity, which equals relatively high impedance.
